Into the light nasce da una coproduzione del Teatro la Ribalta-Kunst der Vielfalt e la compagnia gallese Hijinx incontratesi nel 2015 al Festival Unity di Cardiff. In scena oltre a due attori del Teatro la Ribalta-Kunst der Vielfalt, alcuni attori della compagnia inclusiva gallese Hijinx di Cardiff e della spagnola Danza Mobile di Siviglia Nasce così l’incontro con il londinese Scott Graham a cui è affidata la regia di questa coproduzione internazionale che, attraverso il physical theatre, affronta il tema del diritto di ognuno ad essere visto, ascoltato e “ messo in luce”. Ed è nella luce del teatro che ci incontriamo e ci presentiamo al mondo. Quando gli attori e le attrici emergono dall’oscurità vengono semplicemente visti o esposti? Dobbiamo osare il salto nella luce? O siamo semplicemente falene attratte dalla luce? Into the light è uno spettacolo che illumina il nostro coraggio di esporci a quella luce.
“Into the light” is a co-production between Teatro la Ribalta-Academy of Arts for Diversity and the Welsh company Hijinx, who met up at the Unity Festival in Cardiff in 2015. From the encounter, Londoner Scott Graham was entrusted with directing this international co-production. Through physical theatre, it addresses the issue of the right of each person to be seen, heard and “in the spotlight”. On stage, accompanying the two Teatro La Ribalta-Kunst der Vielfalt Theater actors, are others from the Cardiff-based Hijinx Company and Danza Mobile of Seville, Spain.
It is in the spotlight of theatre in which we find and present ourselves to the world. When the actors emerge from their obscurity are they simply seen or performing? Dare we jump into the light, or are we simply moths attracted to it? “Into the light” is a production that illuminates the courage to expose ourselves to that light.
